Highlights: Your first stop is Auvillar, officially listed among Les Plus Beaux Villages de France. During a private walking tour, you will discover its medieval layout, riverside history, and the lasting marks of the Wars of Religion, including the beautifully restored Church of Saint-Pierre and its remarkable past. Time is then left to simply wander the village at your own pace, perhaps stopping for a coffee alongside locals on the circular market square. The day continues to Valence d’Agen, the historic economic heart of the area. Here, you will enjoy a guided walk through the town, including its emblematic wash basins, on a very special day: the largest weekly market, when the town comes fully alive. After free time to explore the market stalls and streets, you will meet your guide at a local wine bar for a tasting of regional wines and a local specialty, hosted by the resident sommelier. In the afternoon, you will reach Moissac, a town with a rich spiritual and artistic heritage. A private visit of the Romanesque cloister—one of the great jewels of medieval art—offers an introduction to its sculpted capitals and history, followed by an overview of the abbey church portal. You will then have free time to explore the town center at your own rhythm.
